About

I ride bikes, make maps, and build so many web sites in WordPress that I neglect my own.

  1. I’m crossing over from mtn biking into some gravel this year and have done geospatial app development all my career. Looks like we have a lot in common! I’m planning to do Odin’s, so maybe we could talk some shop if you’re there. Great blog!

  2. Hello. Your map is a fantastic resource! Thank you for all the time and love you’ve poured into this. I am looking to find secluded dirt roads (including forest service roads) to connect various areas of single track as remotely as possible, with as little encounter of motored vehicles as possible, for bikepacking. I would love to pick your brain about your experiences in the Leadville/Aspen/Crested Butte area. I’m also ultimately looking to put together a self-supported bikepacking ride to raise awareness for brain injury (please see http://www.MindYourHeadCoop.org.).

May God startle you with joy!

    • Hi Patrick,

Thanks for getting in touch. I don’t know the mountains at all so I won’t be much help. But if you have any feedback on roads from your exploring, let me know and I’ll try to reflect them in my map.

  3. Hi Marc,

Thanks so much for the effort poured into the Colorado gravel road maps. It served me very well during my time in Greeley and Steamboat Springs.

I’m wondering if similar resources exist for Utah, as I’m missing easily connecting routes with your map. However, I don’t know much about making maps- so even if the data is there, I wouldn’t know it if I saw it.

    Cheers,
    Robert

  4. Would you be willing to provide me the data you’ve collected about Iowa? I’d love to mess around with this data and it could save me some work of having to extract and format it from the DOT files. Thanks.
